Dang dog owners
Almost had to plug 2 pitbulls today while I was dropping my daughters off to their grandparents. I got out and walked around to the other side of the car to open the door for my girls and two pitbulls came running up barking and acting aggressively. I told my girls to get back into the damn car. The pits stopped about 5 feet away barking growling and jumping around alot. Never did even draw, but thought I was going to have to.
Ticks me off when folks don't take care of their animals and they become the publics problem. The female was a very pretty big muscular white and black, the male was a ugly red.

That might be called being attacked. You were in fear for your safety and that of your daughters. You should have drawn. Five feet is too close. If they had continued you would been eaten. With two pits on you it is very possible that you would not have been able to draw. 0 -

My thoughts exactly.0 -
I, on the other hand, think you showed good judgement and admirable restraint. You avoided having to shoot down towards concrete or other hard surface and bouncing projectiles around in the vicinity of your daughters and other nearby residents. Way to go!! 0 -
Well he could have used a SK-47 after using a mudpuddle setup and running over it with unicycle, one of those 4 wheel drive ones. Good judgement until the pits use a 1/100 of a second to cover the last 5 feet. And how is one supposed to know? Around here the dogs haven't stopped 5 feet short, none of them have stopped at all. 0 -
I agree with Frogbert. The restraint was admirable.
To Kodiakk: they sure look ugly when they are tooth-on, don't they?

Actually I've dealt with alot of aggressive dogs while I worked for the pound. The white and black female was a very beautifull dog and well built no matter if it was being pissy or not.
I would not of been worried if it would of been only 1 once my kids were back in the car. Been there done that alot of times, but two gets me worried since I only have two hands and one strong dog like that takes two hands, that is why it crossed my mind I might have to plug them. If I had been in the country and not a neighborhood they would of been shot since their owners let those aggressive of dogs run and someone will end up getting bit one of these days.0 -
Worked for the pound? Well, I, for one, am not going to second-guess your decision in this matter. You're a pro. However, there will be others along to "but what if" your actions.
I can't counter your decision, because I would have absolutely no idea what I would be talking about, and would wind up looking like the proverbial horses-ass. Best to you, Joe0
