You know what I wish Springfield would do?
I wish they'd make a factory reproduction M1903A3 rifle. I'd buy one in a heartbeat. If I had the money.

Shoot stuff. What do you think I'd do, use it as a prop rod for my hood??0 -
Good idea, Zulu. They might do it for the 100th Anniversary of WWI. I see a cost of 1500+. 0 -

Try a better option:

FWIW, I bought one of Springfield's Garand reproductions, and the quality of the rifle does not compare to the original.0 -
Why not just buy the real deal. I have one, dated '42. Paid $400. 0 -
I wish they would stop putting up with all that crap from Mr. Burns. 0 -

I believe the topic was about the '03A3. You are mentioning a different rifle.

Get a surplus one (on GB?) It will have the correct chamber (receiver) markings. A new run will have the chamber markings of what ever company decided to re-make the '03. Not the same. If you decide to go the Miltech route, you will get the correct chamber markings. And for all intents and purposes, it will be a new rifle. Best, Joe 0
