Good idea, Zulu. They might do it for the 100th Anniversary of WWI. I see a cost of 1500+.

I wish they'd make a factory reproduction M1903A3 rifle. I'd buy one in a heartbeat. If I had the money.

    Try a better option:

FWIW, I bought one of Springfield's Garand reproductions, and the quality of the rifle does not compare to the original.

Why not just buy the real deal. I have one, dated '42. Paid $400.

I wish they would stop putting up with all that crap from Mr. Burns.

I've seen a few shooter grade ones for $450 or so, same with 1917s...

LocustFork has an 03 up now (may have ended) but it was a low-number gun, collector only. Brittle steel, etc

I believe the topic was about the '03A3. You are mentioning a different rifle.

Presently posted on the CMP Rifle Sales page:

Get a surplus one (on GB?) It will have the correct chamber (receiver) markings. A new run will have the chamber markings of what ever company decided to re-make the '03. Not the same. If you decide to go the Miltech route, you will get the correct chamber markings. And for all intents and purposes, it will be a new rifle. Best, Joe
