with saying "your welcome" i get so tired of hearing someone saying "no problem" when you say thank you[:(!][:(!]

    whenever i go out especially to eat I always say please when I order and then thank you when the drinks and the food comes.

    at the drive thru I will always say hi and how are you when i get up to the window,,its just alot nicer,,and working where I am on the phone talking to man all day sometime they get an attitude about answering alarms and when you say please and thank you it really changes their tone...

    I usually say no problem. Depends who says thanks.


    +1 To people my age, or to the obviously laid-back people, I respond with No Problem or similar. With older people, I'll be more polite.

    The reply "no problem" is too often inappropriately used. It's commonly substituted for "thanks" that may seem too self deprecating. Maybe it's a take off on the Australian "no worries" which sounds better to me. It sounds awkward but language does change from the bottom.
    It was hard getting used to "he went" or "he goes". That one used to irk me watching my kids force these terms into their speech.
    I've stopped looking on the floor.
