about 1/2 to 3/4 cup shortening
about 1 cup sugar, or sweeten to taste
about a scant quart berries
Cream shortening until fluffy. You can add a little of the berry juice to
make this softer. Add berries, a small amount at a time, until you use them
all up. Freeze. Serve with smoked salmon strips

I dont know why you would not make ice cream from shortening,,my wife was a pastry chef for years in several of the major hotels and still does cakes for people all the time and I can tell you for a fact most cake icings that from a bakery is Crisco that has been blended with powdered sugar and flavorings,,everytime you eat that good thick white icing you are eating almost pure shortening,,,,[;)] 0 -

Reminds of the story that McDonald's was using Kangaroo meat...When everone else was going Yuk...I was wishing we had them puppies here and it was open season!
