Is it ethical to list the same gun on two different auctions at a different price?

I personaly wouldn't do it. But I guess if you made it clear in both that it was listed, maybe??
I would think that you would have a hard time if you sold it on both auctions. Then you would be obligated to produce two guns.

At the same auction site, and on the same page??? With no statement about a double listing?? The do say they reserve the right to sell their items at different places and that the Item you are bidding on might not be available,, WTH is that??? 0 -
Could one be a knockoff? I reported a Colt Woodsman a couple of years ago listed in two auctions. One was real, and one they later told me was from the Ukraine. Report it to the auction site. 0 -
It seems that the only reason for that is to put the price high on one, then set the "real" auction lower to get bids? I read your post wrong the first time. I would not trust someone putting the same gun up on two auctions.

Same gun, same picture, same seller.. Why would someone want to bid on a gun they might not get even though they were the high or only bidder?? Doesnt seem right to put an item up for one price on one and a different price on another auction, also to list it on different sites.. That sucks.... 0 -
It could be an accidental double listing. I have looked at my auctions and found two listings for the same item. I don't know if it was a glitch in the system, or if it was something I did wrong, but there they were. I quickly removed the duplicate. 0 -

I kind of agree, but it is not really all that different from listing on GB and adding "subject to shop sale." I don't bid on those.0 -

I really dont care, just wondered what others thought about it.

No but I was just wondering if they are new guns or old guns.
If they are new guns, I have in the past similarily ran auctions simultaniously with the same picture so I wouldn't have to open 5 boxes and handle 5 new guns.

...If it's not a mistake, I think it's wrong to do that kinda crap...but I don't like to do a search for "Colt" and some twit has tittled his listing "Not Colt, Beretta, Glock, S & W"..either..just to get more hits...[xx(]

I would have to see the auctions to compare, it could be a collection being sold that has duplicates that are close in description & condition, or with a new Item, a stock photo / ad copy.
I have flipped auctions from 1 site to another within minutes of it closing, and for some items I have stock items listed on 3 different sites. I recently listed a whitworth tap & die set on about 10 groups + ebarf.

I think the sellers that do that are using these sites free listings for their own personal retail store. They put the gun up at a retail price on multiple auctions, hoping to sell it, not auction it. These are usually the same sellers that sit on their stuff for years with no bids. 0 -

??? the point of a auction is to sell. The only think that "irks" me is when they do not have the item in stock, if they have it on the shelf, well everybody wants to move inventory on hand and auction sites are wonderful sales tools, but when they are listing the davidsons catalog[:o)], thats a little much.

From GB Auction rules: "Please always keep in mind that if the item is won here, it must be sold to the winning bidder. Although it is a harsh remedy, we terminate the accounts of seller who fail to complete transactions."
So, no, listing the same item for sale twice is either an error, or unethical. If for sale locally, once a reserve is met, you have committed to sell that item here. Reserve not met, you can end auction early. Read the rules, guys.0 -
Hardly a new gun, a 1920.s something Ithaca flues.. Same serial number listed in both auction listings, only a different price in each.. I was just looking to see what they were going for at auction as I might be persuaded to sell one of mine if the price were right..And no the price isnt right..LMAO[}:)][:D][:D] 0 -
