anybody into old negative(pic)
I came across a stack of old glass negatives from the worlds fair in San Francisco including Teddy Roosevelt ,some sort of auto race and the Cliff House on fire. how do I go about checking on the value of these?

I always start with EBAY to get a feel if an item has any $$$$ to it.
something like this you might ask an auction house. i pick up old cameras but have not seen any neg. like this around here[8D]0 -

You might run an ad in a local shopper, or call some old fashioned photographers and see if they could make some prints. That allows a better valuation especially on eBay. You could also check some photo forums. 0 -
I would take them to a Large city museum and ask a curator to look at them, watch his face if he drools, you know you got a pocket full of cash if he snickers, thank him kindly and leave.

The 2$ price was on the envelopes already, got these from an abandoned storage locker, I think the guy past away with no next of kin, I waited about a year before taking them. 0 -
There are some scanners out there that have the ability to scan negatives and make them printable by your printer ... just a thought. 0 -
If you have a photo program on your computer and a scanner you can use the "Negative" effect function in the program and it will come out enough for you to see some detail.
I saved your photo's and quickly edited them, I'm sure with a scanner and the actual negatives you could get a fairly decent image.0 -
WHAT I WOULD DO-
Bill I don't recall what city your in or near. But here in Santa Cruz Covello & Covello a photography shop, handles the majority of the Photo archives going back to the 1800 for the city, county, and personal photos.
I bet you can find a shop in your area that does the same. Your local news paper people will know. I am will to bet thats were they get copies of old photos for the news paper, like ours.0 -

Keep them out of direct and inderect sunlight! They will fade! Joe 0
