Hello, I will give a quick intro. My name is monica I ave been married for 2yrs now. When I met my husband I knew he was into guns, but really wasnot all that interested in them myself. After a few months of dating, I would go just to please him. I liked it ok, but nothing I wanted to do every weekend. Hes also involved in martial arts training, and I have gone to some of his matches. He is very defense/training/tactic oriented..but theres just one small problem and that is he is too gung ho.
Everything he learns he wants to come home and teach me, if I dont get it he gets frustrated, if I dont go shoot with him he gets frustrated, if I try to change the subject he gets frustrtated. He is VERTY overprotective with mne. Im not allowed to work nights. When i leave the house he makes sure Im carrying mace along with my cell and pocket knife. He wanted me to carry a gun in my purse and we fight over it constantly because I do not feel the need to. He says I have sheeple mentality(whatever that is) and that I am naive and jaded. Few nights ago when he got back from the dojo, he said he was going to pretend like he was an attacker(rapist) and he wanted to see what I would do(after he shown me some moves) He only role played up to a certain point, and when I couldnt get him off me, he got frustrated and said I wasnt paying attention
He lives in this world where he thinks this stuff is GOING to happen ALWAYS. I have tried telling him, that yes bad things happen but that doesnt mean they will ALWAYS happen.
I know that his overprotectiveness has to do with what his sister, (they are extremely close, should have been twins) went thru. She was raped the day before his 18th birthday. When it happened he took off work to be with her, and he tried to get her to tell him who it was, but she wouldnt(probably b/c she knew he would kill him)
He acts as if it happened to him. I really feel like I am getting the brunt of what happened to his sister. I know that alot of men are gung ho and stuff, but is this normal in a marriage/relationship?0 -
