When does your rush hour start?

Around here it starts at 4:45 and is over by 6. During those hours it takes 20 minutes to get from one end of town to the other (five miles), rather than the usual 14. [:D]

Now let the WSU Cougars have a home football game and that's a whole different ball of wax. That'll make a 90-minute traffic jam on both ends of the game and getting across town might take 35 minutes.

The situation has degenerated since 5 years ago when rush hour only lasted about 40 minutes. I was feeling annoyed by that until I visited my family in a 2Million+ metro area and remembered what most folks put up with. [xx(]

Just another reason to leave that cess pool and move to some place else. Along with the high cost of day care. [:D] Rush hour around here is when a farmer moves a combine from one field to another and blocks traffic.

Usually 4-6pm is pretty hectic. Luckily I have to be to work by 4 so I just barely miss most of the traffic, but on long nights at work I catch the morning rush(7-8am) which isn't fun either. Of course my definiton of traffic is nowhere near what you guys in the really large cities deal with. I wouldn't be able to take that everyday.

Any time a slow-moving tractor gets in front of me.
    Seriously, it's a blue-collar town. Rush hour is between 7 and 8AM, and between 4 and 5PM.
Still only takes me about 10 minutes max to get to work/home.

I always get a kick out of it when people from larger cities get behind a tractor on a backroad around here. They are still moving faster then they would in a traffic jam in a larger city yet they find it neccessary to cuss and beep their horn. I just sit back and laugh and think to myself, "that tractor ain't going any faster there son."[:D]

[8D]--My only commute traffic, that I worry about, is North Sacramento (hiwy 80) from 12 noon till 1800 hours and I allow my travel time, to the Sierras, to skirt around that horrible time (even on weekends)--

--When we go to San Francisco Bi-weekly) we take the Ferry, over the water and have NO traffic--

    I second the tractor thing.

I just have 7 miles of 2 lane blacktop, and about 25 miles of open four lane to drive.

Rush hour here is when the three guys at the mill get off work, and lasts from 3:01PDWT to 3:01:20PDWT.

Sometimes, it's a little longer, if one of the guys gets stopped by the traffic light.

But, damn, I sure miss all the fun I used to have in East LA.

How much of a rush can three four-wheelers, two cars and four pick up trucks cause in one 24 hour period? [:D]
