Back during the "Six Million Dollar Man" and blaxploitation days, I saw one called, "The Six Hundred Dollar N*****." It was of course "tounge in cheek."

Hey, Zip, did you know that "Plan 9" was film-great Bela Lugosi's last film? He died during the filming--probably from disappointment--and they had to shoot the long shots with a stand-in. A good friend of mine is a HUGE horror film buff--owns one of the largest collections of horror film and real serial killer items--and I've learned some interesting trivia from him.

Its why Legosi's character never uncovers his face throughout the movie. That cut scene of him in the woods is priceless

I also have to go with Army of Darkness. I watched it the other night hoping for a laugh, but it was absolutely terrible.

No one has mentioned "Ishtar". And there is always "Trouble Comes to Tiny Town". A western cast entirely with midgets- riding Shetland ponies. Really. Guiness World Book lists it as one of the 10 worst ever- along with "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes".

I had completely forgotten about "Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes"."Earth Girls Are Easy" should be on that list somewhere too.

    Yep!

Here's some more trivia about it.

There is an auto (car) chase scene. The chase scene starts out at night - actually it was filmed in the daylight (as they used to do) and in post film editing they would chemically process the film to make it look as if it were actually night. However, in Plan 9, they ran out of money at that very point, in the film, and barely found enough money to finish the film. It's the only film that I know of that where a chase scene started in the dead of night and in the middle of the chase scene - rounding a corner - it suddenly turns into a mid-day sunlight chase! It never fails to make me laugh!

You guys are all wet. Army of Darkness was gut busting funny. Shaun of the Dead was damn funny as well. I have watched both numerous times and would sit down right now if I had them in the house.

Truly, really, as I young man I sat through all 147 hours of Yentl with Barbara Streisand. My buddy's mom took us to the movies and I was thinking it was going to be some shoot-'em-up and I got Yentl. Man.

Shakedown ('87?) Peter Weller, Sam Elliot.

    Worst. Movie. Ever.

Now, for a movie that was SO bad that, eventually, it became a good, because every time you thought it could get worse, you were wrong...

    "Deep Rising"

Particularly when Treat Williams looks back at Famke Jannsen (as they ride a jet-ski thru the sinking ship, firing a Mossberg 590 over his shoulder at the pursuing tentacles) and shouts:

    "Pump me!"

I nearly wet myself, I was laughing so hard.

What about that movie "Dude! Where's My Gun?"

It occurs to me that "Plan 9 from Outer Space" almost certainly does not qualify. When a movie is so bad it becumes a campy cult classic, then it has a certain cachet that removes it from the "worst" category.

I think we would have to look at a movie that has never been put on video or DVD, because it would not sell three copies.

    Interesting philosophy.

Well what do I know, my candidate was going to be "The Master Gunfighter" by Tom Laughlin, but it turns out it has been put on DVD. Who'da thunk it? I bet they have not sold 6 copies.
