Make it your New Year's resolution to make a difference
Dear D,
We are half way through January and we are already on the move across the country.
Our allies are introducing life-saving gun bills in the new (and improved!) 110th Congress ... and state legislatures across the country are convening and considering some excellent gun laws at the state level.
As our elected officials are doing their part, we need you to help us start the new year off with a big push.
Last week, we asked for a donation of $20.07 to get us started - as well as a phone call to your U.S. Representative. This week, we are asking you to call both your U.S. Senators. This is all about creating a buzz - and with your calls and your contributions, that is exactly what will happen.
Our friends on the Hill tell us they want to support common sense gun laws, but they also tell us that Members of Congress, especially new members, need to hear from you in order to move forward.
CALL YOUR U.S. SENATORS TODAY: 202-224-3121
Tell them: "I am concerned about gun violence in my community, and I am calling to urge you to cosponsor and support sensible gun laws during this year's session."
Before they get into the thick of the legislative session, your two U.S. Senators needs to know that you are appalled by the gun violence epidemic that has plagued our country for far too long, and that you demand change now!
Here's What You Can Do Today to Help:
1. Call Your U.S. Senators Today.
Call the switchboard at 202-224-3121 and they will transfer you. Or click here to look up your Senators' direct numbers.
Give Your Senators the Message:
"As a constituent, I am concerned about gun violence in my community, and I am calling to ask my Senator to cosponsor and support sensible gun laws during this year's session."
2. Make a Donation of $20.07, if you haven't already.
Help us kick off the year with a donation of $20.07. This meaningful gift will tell us that you too think 2007 will be the year that we finally turn the tide. Donate Now.
3. Spread the Word.
We need to create a buzz in these congressional offices that tells our legislators that if they step up on our issue, we will stand behind them. Send this email to others who care about this issue.

Sign up for their emails and do what I did until they took me off their list,email back the stats on the crime rates in the areas with the strictest gun control. 0 -
Call your MOCs and Senators and tell them the exact opposite.
Send the Brady Bunch a check for a penny. It costs them close to a buck to process each check. It'll cost you about $0.45, including the stamp, envelope and check.0 -

The USPS says that you can use a postage-paid envelope attached to any object or package (no dead animals, bombs, etc.) as long as it weighs no more than 72 lbs. Be sure to maximize the weight of your package, within limits, for the ultimate effect and cost to the spammer. Old tires are great objects to send since the garbage man usually won't take them!!! Shingles, tires, rocks, bricks, and basically any form of junk will work just fine. You can even tape the envelope to a large rock if you want.....it's all LEGAL."
