$3.75 for premium at my favorite Chevron station, which is down four cents from yesterday. I am nervous because the last time the price dropped four cents it then went up eight cents the next day!

Haven't seen $4 a galloon gas here in several years. Will more than likely go above $5 a gallon once our first fuel barge of the season shows up somwtime this month. I don't worry about it. If I did I wouldn't drive a gas guzzling Dodge Durango or a boat that consumes 9 gallons an hour at 3/4 throttle or 14 gallons at WOT. It just means that I will have to work an extra hour or 2 each week to stay up with the price change.

america has had considerably cheaper gasoline than many other parts of the world for years and years. now that gao is closing and of course, we complain like its a great big consipracy against us. anybody ever given any though that maybe the government has been doing a damn good job at keeping our prices lower than surounding areas for quite some time.....

Yes. I remember paying about $6/gallon in South Africa in 1992. But I don't hear anybody here blaming it on our government. So we're finally approaching the same prices as everybody else on the planet. It's still a little bit painful. And I find it interesting to hear the different prices from around the country.

Most of Europe has much higher gasoline prices than we do. BUT it's not because our government has been doing a good job of keeping the prices down. Where do people get this crap???

Break down the actual cost per gallon in Europe and you will see a large portion is taxes. Taxes which pay for socialized medicine which we don't have, taxes that pay for automatic liability insurance which we don't have, etc.

IT ISN'T THE COST OF THE FUEL! THE BASE COST IS COMPARABLE TO OURS!

    its not ridiculus.
actually whats ridiculus is people arent phased by it, which signals oil companies that its ok.
they wont stop raising it until demand goes down. its a vicious circle and only the planet suffers.

Have you seen anybody drive slower yet? Me neither. I now cruise at 65 mph instead of 75. People are passing me like I'm standing still. My mileage went up by 10%.

What bothers me is the excuses for it going up. The last I heard was it was going up because the demand was up. The problem with that is if the demand is up and supplies can't keep up then we should see shortages somewhere. Anybody got a shortage of gas in there area?
