new pistol question
I am interested in a new pistol. I am thinking about a P30, a usp compact, and a Sig 229. My question is whats the big differnece between the USP's and the P30? I am leaning towards the p30 but what is a good price for a new one in 9mm.

Our group went to our annual D.U. banquet last week and one of the guys at our table won a S&W Sigma series .40 cal. He said he wasn't really interested in it 'cause he's not a pistol person and offered it up to the group.
Before I tell him I'm interested, what do ya'll think and what's it worth. I don't have alot of info on this piece and the one I saw on the auction side was more than I wanted to spend, by the way this will go to likemhot jr.0 -
get rid of it. They are a pile. 0 -
They can be had for under $300 new.

probably one of the poorest guns s&w makes. I've never met anyone that owned one that was satisfied with it. 0 -

The're all right about that one, poor gun, lousey triger system, and can be had under $300.00.
Had three of them, couldn't wait to get rid of them.0 -

I'm beginning to see a trend here. As I mentioned in my original thread, I'm looking for something for my son, he's nearly sixteen and loves to shoot. I think we'll take a pass on this one. Thanks for all the help. 0 -
Buy him a XD in a .40 . 0 -
An XD was definitly a consideration, it just happened that the S&W was readily available. In my own humble opinion I love my Sig 220, but I can't justify that kind of money for a young man, now ifin he wants to go halvsies on a Sig 40 I might consider that 0
