Headed to Fort Hood from KC
Brother in law home on leave from Iraq. We will be headed to Fort Hood - Killeen, Texas. Route will be across I-44 from Missouri to Oklahoma City then south on I-35. Any place or anybody I should stop and see. Gun shops, restaurants, etc.

You're not likely looking for burgers, and it's been quite a number of years since I left Ft. Hood. But there was a place in Killeen called 39 cent burger. A deluxe burger was huge, a large order of fries came in something akin to a small grocery sack and both were prepared to perfection. Prices would put Mc.D's and BK to shame. 0 -
Been 39 years since I was at Fort Hood so probably not much the same now. There was someplace on base though that sold a killer dog and kraut plate with ice cold pitchers of beer. Boy those were good.[:(][:(][:(][:(] 0 -
OOOOO!!! [:0]I remember way back when I was in FT HOOD and we got a 3 day pass and went to Killeen[8D]
Met up with these women[8D] and this one took me to her place about a mile out of town.[}:)] She said she was a working girl[:0] and wanted money,[:0] I think it was 10.00
I remember going up these steps and this long hall way with only 1 light blub lit.[:0]
She said to get undressed [:p]and wait so I took all my cloths off[}:)] and waited and waited and waited and waited,[V] finally I got off the bed and opened the door and that 1 light bulb that was lit in the hall way burned out.[:(!] So I called Mary Loooo, Mary Looooooo then I reilzed that sum of a Bitch left[:(!] or they were waiting for me in that long dark hall way.[B)]
I rolled up this blanket and put it on top of my head and the only thing I could find for a weapon was this broken off high heel shoe
Slowly with my back against the wall and the blanket on top of my head with my weapon I slid along the wall checking every door way
Well, she was long gone and with my money[:(!] so I walked back to town and met up with the guys[8D]
They asked me how did I make out
O MAN!! I made out like a bandit[8D] I lied my ass off [:D]0 -
Ft. (Head) was a long time ago! I was with 1/3 Arty, 2nd Armd. Div. After 1 1/2 yrs. in Vietnam, stateside duty was a joke! If you have time, check out the Texas Ranger Museum in Waco!! A fantastic gun display!! 0
