If there was ever a solution to the immigration problem I'd say this is it!!! All 50 states should adopt this policy instead of waiting for Washington to do something!
OKLAHOMA NO LONGER OK FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS
Finally-one of 50 states takes requisite action re: illegals.
Hopefully more states will do this too. Link below will take you a news article of May 2007 which reports this important step by Oklahoma.

Oklahoma's Governor Brad Henry has signed a sweeping immigration reform bill, House Bill 1804, that its sponsor believes will go a long way in dealing with the illegal alien problem in the state.
House Bill 1804 was passed by overwhelming majorities in both the House and Senate of the Oklahoma Legislature. The measure's sponsor, State Representative Randy Terrill, says the bill has four main topical areas: it deals with identity theft; it terminates public assistance benefits to illegals; it empowers state and local police to enforce federal immigration laws; and it punishes employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens.
Oklahoma is no longer "O. K." for illegal aliens, Terrill observes. "When you put everything together in context," he contends, "the bottom line is illegal aliens will not come here, if there are no jobs waiting for them, they will not stay here if there is no government subsidy, and they certainly won't stay here if they know that if they ever encounter our state and local law enforcement officers, they will be physically detained until they're deported. And that's exactly what House Bill 1804 does."
The Oklahoma legislator is pleased the bill he sponsored into law was
signed by Governor Henry and believes it will go a long way to curb the illegal immigration problem in the state. "I would remind people that states are separate sovereigns in our federal system," Terrill points out. "Anyone who doesn't understand that needs to go back and take an American federal government class in college," he says.
As a result of that sovereignty, the Oklahoma lawmaker insists, "we have as much right - in fact, I would argue, a responsibility - to protect our taxpayers against that sort of egregious waste, fraud and abuse as the federal government should have a responsibility to protect that international border, but doesn't do that."
Terrill says as long as the federal government refuses to do its job of protecting the international borders of the United States, states like Oklahoma must take action to deal with the problem that is costing taxpayers in the state $200 million a year in public benefits, law enforcement costs, and other resources.

If this legislation survives the inevitable ACLU legal challenge it will very very quickly be mimicked in other States. Not because it's what we've all been waiting for, but do you honestly think the illegals are going to simply move back over the border, no, there going to move to other States. A major influx of illegals into the States surrounding OK and the associated crime and welfare claims increase will be a real problem, which will have the local residents demanding their politicians do something about. 0 -

You make it out to be a tougher law than it might really be.
Laws only work if the PTB have the balls to enforce the laws on the books. All it takes is a corrupt politician here or a bleeding-heart liberal over there to essentially ignore the law, as many often do.
Don't forget -- we already have laws on the books concerning immigration. Unfortunately, we only selectively enforce it.
Don't forget. Illegal immigrants are not criminals if you consider them to be undocumented workers, and aren't even illegal to hire if you, like Harry Reid, consider them undocumented Americans.0 -

Business owners say their customers are shying away, but the law's author says that's the goal.
Car dealer Jorge Figueroa said he can hardly sell a car because of a state immigration law that doesn't even go into effect until November.
Rep. Randy Terrill, R-Moore, the lawmaker who wrote House Bill 1804 to force illegal immigrants out of Oklahoma says he isn't very sympathetic and the law does exactly what it's supposed to.
Figueroa, who owns Universal Vehicle Sales on 11th Street and who says most of his customers are Hispanic, said he sold one car last month, compared to the usual 10 or 15 cars a week.
Customers are frightened by the law and aren't spending their money, he said.
Figueroa, who moved to the United States from Mexico 14 years ago and says he is a legal permanent resident, had considered opening a second car lot in Tulsa. Now, he might take that new business to a neighboring state.
Or maybe return to Mexico with his wife and three daughters, who are U.S. citizens.
"People are scared of the new law," Figueroa said. "They are trying to save money to move to another state or back to Mexico."
Estevan Torres at Azteka Motor is experiencing a similar effect at his two car lots in town. He said sales are down by 50 percent. Some 90 percent of his customers are Hispanic, he added.
"Sometimes they're returning cars or trading in for a cheaper one so they can move out of the state," said Torres, who claims U.S. citizenship.
"Or they try to refund it."
Torres said he also had considered opening another location in town but now will likely do it in another state.
Other car dealers in the area said sales were down but not to such an extent. One blamed gas prices, not the immigration law.
Terrill said people shouldn't profit off illegal immigrants.
"It's ill-gotten gain that they never should have received in the first place," he said.
"To that extent, I'm not real sympathetic to their plight."
Gov. Brad Henry signed the immigration bill in early May. It addresses illegal immigration in many ways, including ways to prevent illegal immigrants from getting public benefits and jobs.
Torres said local and state economies are going to suffer from it. He said he pays $200,000 in taxes to the state.
"I'm keeping my eyes on this law because it's affecting my business," he said. "There are lots of big companies that are going to be affected."
Terrill said the cost of illegal immigration to the state outweighs the money the legislation might force out of the economy.
It's difficult to determine how much illegal immigrants paid to the state in taxes, but the Oklahoma Tax Commission bases estimates on taxes filed with a taxpayer ID rather than a Social Security number, Terrill said.
Individual taxpayer IDs are issued whether a person is a U.S legal resident or not. State tax collections from taxpayer IDs in 2005 were about $12.7 million, according the commission.
The commission estimates that about $9.1 million in sales tax was generated from those with a taxpayer ID, along with their dependents.
Those figures together don't replace the more than $200 million that illegal immigrants directly cost the state -- mostly in education, health care, welfare and corrections, Terrill said.
Terrill also said legislative testimony shows that illegal immigrants indirectly cost the state $400 million to $600 million a year through things like unpaid medical bills.
Still, business owners that cater to Hispanics are uncertain of the future.
"For the last month and a half, I'm not really sleeping because I'm thinking what am I going to do," Figueroa said, pointing to dozens of unsold cars around him. "I don't have money in the bank. Everything is right here."
Terrill said he's pleased the bill is already working.
"If people are leaving the state of Oklahoma prior to its effective date, that's fine and dandy with me," he said.0
