    U gotta wonder if he even said, or asked for the time .He may have just jumped on a jet and split.
    Even if he did, the fine is a bit harsh...
    BTW,,, are they trying to say he makes $435,000 "base salary" as in, for the year?? NO WAY!!,, That HAS to be for the ONE game he missed... Right?

    When my grandmother died earlier this year my company gave me the time off paid and I didn't have to use any of my paid leave time. They also wanted the address to the funeral home so they could send flowers.

    I only worked for my current employer for 2 months when my grandfather past away. The company sent flowers. I think the bereavement period was 3 days for a grandparent.

    Football players only have to work on 16 days each year. They are expected to show up.
    The guy said he would give up his career for his family.
    We all have to make choices.

    If he would like a new career at WalMart for $7.00 an hour, I am sure he could get a couple days bereavement leave without getting fined. Of course, he wouldn't get paid, either.

    I read about this earlier today. The NFL as a whole is cracking down hard.
    I wouldn't be suprised if Goodell fines him too.

    Where I work we get funeral leave/pay, 3 days. But we must notify in advance.
