Sig 1911 XO
I was looking at my local gun store this weekend and ran across a Sig 1911 XO in stainless. I love the rough texture of this pistol and the all around looks of it. Do any of ya'll have any experience with this pistol? How about experience with the Sig 1911 in general? I own several 1911s but I don't own one made by Sig. How is the quality? I own a Sig 229 and it has been a great pistol but is too "thick" for me to conceal well.....on the other hand I can conceal a full size single stack 1911 quite well.
Any help on information or the best place to find the best price would be appreciated. The best price I found so far was at my local dealer and he was asking $735.
Thanks

I bought one for $640 at Buds gun shop. I have had it out to the range once and was impressed enough that my next pistol will be a Sig. My kids like it better than my XD9. 0 -
Only one person on a gun forum has any knowledge of the quality of Sig 1911 pistols? 0 -
$640 sounds like a good deal. Where is Bud's and is that the regular price? Does he keep them in stock?
Thanks

I carry a SIG, so that should tell you what I think of SIGs in general.
BUT..
As for their new 1911 line. A friend I shoot with bought one of their high end 1911s. After sending it back to the factory a NUMBER of times, he dumped it. NO one could fix the FTF and FTE problems.0 -
Well, I bought a GSR "carry" model right before Christmas. First 1911 and first Sig. It has become the favorite in my stable of handguns. Fit and finish are near flawless, no slop in the slide fit, no MIM parts, and eats ANYTHING I have thrown at it (no handloads, but factory ball of several mfgs, Fed. hydroshocks and Corbon DPX hollowpoint). I read all the same stuff about the early models requiring service to run right, but mine has run like a sewing machine since day one. Needless to say, I'm extremely pleased with mine. 0 -

This is the link where I got my XO, however it looks like they are done with their special.
I have only had mine out to the range once but I put 250 rounds through it without the above mentioned issues.
Fit and finish are outstanding. I have shot Springfield, Colts and Kimbers prior and my Sig was more acurate than the Colts and the Springer I shot. I have done nothing but clean mine. The Kimber was the most acurate 1911 I have shot. All of these experiances could be influenced by a number of factors such as age and care of the weapons I had shot previously not to mention memory and bias.0 -
I have dealt with Bud's through the sales/auction portion of GB. Great people, quick response and real gentlemen. 0
