hunting hearing protection
Hello all,
I will take my daughter for her first deer hunt in PA next month and would like suggestions on hearing protection. I would like her to have one of those electronic nose reductions that allow her to hear everything at normal volume but not the high noise of the gun. The walker game ear would fit the bill, but it is spendy.
Any suggestions on noise reduction for hunting? Amplification is not important; just want her to be able to hear nature and be protected at the same time. Also, the in-ear design would be best.
Thanks in advance for any help[:)],

Thanks, Jim
I agree that it is vital. I only wrote to see if there were an alternative brand. I have not been budget minded in this venture so far and don't plan to be on the vital areas.
Ruger compact .243 and Leupold scope: $700.
Hunting clothes and gear: $200
Trip home from SC to PA: $500
PICTURE OF ME, MY LITTLE GIRL AND HER FIRST DEER: PRICELESS.[:D]
I'll post pics[:D]

Hello "earlwellman"[:)]
I have a pair of electronic hearing protectors. The brand is Western
Safety that I got from Harbor Freight. They were less than $20. They use 2 AA batteries. I was on the range Sunday afternoon teaching a librarian to shoot. I had a pair of hearing protectors for him as well. They worked just fine and you can't beat the price.
Now if I can just convince him he needs a revolver and not an autoloader, he will learn how to shoot much faster.

I have 5 pair of the inexpensive one Midway sell and they have been flawless for two years now. I use deer hunting if I carry a gun with a muzzle brake and always at the range. 0 -
