Racoon Trap

I set the haveaheart trap last night to catch a huge racoon that was stealing my dog food and caught these peculiar looking anmals instead.
They even ate all the coon bait.

    I saw the coon yesterday morning eating out of my dogs food bag in the carport. I set the trap last night and moved the ood inside and when I let my chickens out of their coop these two found the bait.

    I will reset the trap again tonight.

    A slice of bread smeared with peanut butter makes excellent coon bait. Set it out after the chickens go to roost. You'll have your coon by morning.

    If it's a "coon" you're after, you might do better with a big slice of watermelon [;)].U may also need a slightly larger trap..[:D]

    Those chickens prepared in the traditional southern fried way will work very well for that particular variety of coon also.[:D][;)]

    I will do that.

    If that does not work. Wire a bone to the bottom of the cage, just behind the trip plate. I have seen them get bait that wasn't "tied down" and back out of the trap without tripping it.
