The OSP is already stretched so thin that the portland media lets it be known that, while you can pretty much put the hammer down in Oregon, you'd better back off when you get north of the Intersate bridge, because WE have COPS up here.
How could the OSP possibly fulfill this un-funded mandate?

Since I am not in the NW...does this mean that the guy who has his own makeshift range on his 20 acres is going to have to be certified to shoot on his own range and keep a logbook of every weapon fired there?

The log book is merely a defacto registration. There is no legitimate purpose to record the make/model, caliber and name/address of a person shooting there. Want to know where all the firearms are in your county???? Go grab the logbook from the ranges...it will tell you all you need to know.

We are slowly but surely being surrounded by our enemies and the enemies of the Constitution of the United States of America.

If the 2d Amendment goes...others will surely follow.

You are 100% correct. Oregon has very few state officers and cars as it is. We don't have a sales tax like WA state and thats where the money comes from in most states. Our primary police are the county sheriffs and they do a great job of enforcing the laws.

Problem is we can't keep anyone locked up. No money for jails, so they say. Car thiefs get a ticket and summons for court. Its a friggin joke. But the legislature can take the time to harass gun owners about ranges. Meth junkies are in and out of the court system so fast your head will spin and Illegials, ha! what illegials!

We need enforcement of the current laws on the books not new liberal feel good laws!

Portland, Eugene, and the Capital Salem tend to swing to the liberal side of the ledger for sure. The rest of rural Oregon is conservative by the most part. Maybe the Bend area which is attracting lots of folks from California might be liberal also but I am not sure.

Oregon is treehugger central for the whole of the US.
