I was there today too. Almost sold a rifle I am trying to move.

Best part is that I got a part time job. One of the ammo vendors is a friend of my GF's uncle. He said the vendor is always looking for help at the shows and asked if I wanted to do it. I said sure, so from now on for the most part I will be working the shows. Now for the BEST part, he likes to pay in ammo [:p][:p][:p]. Funny thing is that ammo is worth more then money right now. My GF is kinda making fun of me for that part but I said "well if I got paid in cash what would I buy?" She said "ammo..."

    You're pathetic.

Don't worry about a job - steal more shotguns.

I thought you might be there....and had half an eye out for you but I'm not so good at keeping names to faces.

Anyway, good for you getting a FUN part time job that pays in ammo. That way you don't have to wonder if you're spending cash that should go elsewhere on ammo that you really want to buy.

    We'll meet up......in a few months.

I think at least one gun walks off every gun show they hold locally. There are just too many trusting souls trying to sell guns, and too many dirtbags who don't want to pay for them.

I go to almost every show in the STL. area and from what I see, it would be very easy to steal a long gun. Some vendors set up as many as 10 tables and only have 2 people watching them. It would be very easy to walk off with a shotgun or a rifle. Pistols are normally kept in glass cases,so they would be harder to steal. I have never seen a security check at the exit to make you show a receipt to prove you paid for an item.

Well I was packing an HK SL8 around for sale. I don't think I know what you would look so that wouldn't help me [:)] Yeah we will hit it for sure after the first of the year.

No, you wouldn't know what I look like. I'm paranoid that way and don't post my picture to the WWW if I can help it (but sometimes my employers do so anyway).

We'll hit it in the new year at the Escure Ranch. The big trick is going to be getting ECC down there for the event. Think about how to accomplish that! We need to get him west of the Rockies so that he can experience the genius of the scablands and the even greater genius of the Cascades!

We had a 6" Smith 586 stolen today.

We noticed it almost immediately but could not identify a suspect. We reported the theft to the show promoter and asked him to make an announcement and alert the police working the show and anyone working the doors. He did not.

We also asked him to have a police officer, of which there were several working the show, come over and take a theft report. He did. TWO HOURS later.

We won't be going to Houston for a gun show anytime soon.
