I do not find that surprising at all. I have shot all my life. When I met my wife she never had. Almost as soon as she started firing, she was better than me. My brother immediately dubbed her "Annie".[:D]

And she did a FINE job of it too.

I wish her the best dealing with it now.
With some, that can be a problem, with others........

She used her OWN weapon,........what a great example of how the devastation can be limited!
Very sorry for the ones lost, but this is how things can be ended as quickly as possible.
The politicos will never acknowledge it though.[xx(]

She's a hero. I think she stopped an act of domestic terrorism. Two Christian facilities were attacked and people killed. I hope we learn more about this brave woman. I hope the churches around MN wise up to this, especially mine.

The need to protect our Schools and our Churches by arming our citizens should come to the fore front now, or its our fault. I think a push for armed female school teachers would be good right now.

Is it illegal to CCW in church in MN? I know it is in some states where CCW is allowed elsewhere.
I just figure if I have to use it, I needed to save somebody's life, and the Gov't doesn't have any business in my church. (My state doesn't forbid CCW in church anyway.)

I think the "Armed Citizen" aspect is going to be diminished because the lady is being described as a security guard. Instead of using this as a means to justify carrying a weapon in church, the media is going to spin it to say churches should hire professional security.

Unfortunately,.....I predict you will be correct.

I know a church where the pastor is also an active duty deputy sheriff. He's ALWAYS armed, even while preaching/teaching. He claims he has a better vantage point from which to see trouble coming in the back door. His congregation is aware of his armed condition and seem to appreciate the extra measure of security.

I just read an article about this on cnn.com, and according to a quote from the pastor, the woman shot the assailant and told him to stop, he apparently reached for something that appeared to be a grenade, so she shot him again and killed him. I say Glory to God that she carried that day and had the G-U-T-Z to take this guy out. God Bless her!!!!

What kind of church has armed security guards?

NBC reported it was one of the church's security guards.

Funny how when citizens stop a crime it doesn't get properly reported, but a Texan shoots two thieves and we all here about it.

God bless her. She saved countless lives including her own. Maybe these anti-gun jerks will get it through their heads that people need to be able to defend themselves, especially in today's world. Sadly, they probably won't. [V]

I think of you people that carry everywhere are overkill.

this situation makes me rethink my position.

If lunatics (demoniacs, those bent on destroying innocent life) operated on schedule or otherwise predictable patterns, one might be choosy about when/where they "pack." Since they don't appear to do so, it behooves rational people to BE PREPARED when least expected--in the shopping mall, at church, at school, etc. It's particularly those supposedly "gun free zones" where it is the most dangerous to be unarmed.

You have a point, he's looking out and at the back of the church.

No stealing from the poor box, either[;)]

The woman was a former minneapolis police officer who was fired from the force in late 90's for lying. Local news reported that badguy may have killed himself.
