FshFndr or anyone with a Firestorm /Bersa .380?
I noticed where you had posted before that you also have a Firestorm .380 and Im having a strange problem with mine and was wondering if you have experienced the same. My gun functions flawlessly and is very accurate with everything I have put through it so far but with FMJ rounds it tends to every now and then leave one tilting straight up and doesnt eject it all the way. It just tips up and smokes and I have to clear it. It doesnt do this with any hollow point ammo at all only with FMJ which is weird to me because I would think it should function that over the hollows. Is this common, have you had this trouble,an easy fix, will work itself out??Its blowing my mind because the gun is so good with everything else. Any help is appreciated.

Never had that problem with mine so I cannot really help you. It sure seems weird that it is with FMJ ammo. Any particular brand or all FMJ?? Mine will digest anything that I put it in, although about 90% of what it gets is FMJ 95 grains. If the gn is still new it might just need some more rounds fired through it, I had a 1911 that was like that would jam every now and then....lasted about 500 rounds then never again jammed. 0 -
Well actually the only FMJ I have fired has been all Remington but it eats up the 88 grain JHP's all day and is the most accurate with those and the FMJ is 90 grain but Im sure they are using the same brass because they are both the Remington Express. It could just be that it is new but I have fired it a good bit already. Its weird I know that. 0 -
It is probably because the FMJ ammo has less powder? Light load.
How many rounds have been fired through it?0 -
Im touching about 225.Most all of it has been the 88 grain hollow JHP's though only about 50 of them have been FMJ and out of those 50 it has done it about 8 times but none with the JHP's and it does the same exact thing everytime just pulls the case out of the chamber and leaves it facing straight up. 0 -
My guess is that it is not the bullet or the case that is causing the problem but the powder charge difference in the 2 rounds that have been fired through it. 0 -
You know of any peticularly warm FMJ .380 loads and let me see if a bigger powder charge or alittle more recoil doesnt fix it? 0 -
I think it must be the ammo as stated above, mine eats everything and I mainly shoot Brown Bear 380 JHP. The only time mine acts up just a little is because I failed to clean it. I can shoot the BB HP cheaper than other FMJ cheap ammo. I have been giving 7.25 a box and it just went up a dollar per 500. We go together and buy bulk from Ammuntioncenter here on GB but we are lucky and see him at the local gun shows.Get your buddies together and buy quantity before the price hits the ceiling. Try some other ammo and see what your Firestorm likes and enjoy it we do. 0
