    Not sure a Sergeant would have been a "founder" of the operational detachment Delta, but I'll bet he gives himself plenty of credit.
    Kinda like that Marcinko book about Seal Team Six.

    he wasm't the founder. the founding member col. charlie beckwith

    he was a founding member, meaning he was one of the first classes to complete selection and give the new unit the numbers it needed to carry out it's opperations

    he retired as a command sargeant major

    had the seal team six book in my hand as well and went with delta, seeing as it is still not offiialy acknowledged by t he military

    that would make him a "plank owner" right?

    The Navy would refer to him as a plank owner, such as one of the members of the first crew of a new sailing ship in the old days.
