CTU or delta
some interesting observations.
i am reading the book "inside delta" by reatired CSM Eric Haney, one of the founding members of special forces opperational detatchment-Delta or what is commonly refered to as the delta force.
as i read through it and watch the show 24 it is very easy to draw parralels between delta and the ficticiouse CTU. whoever created 24 must have read the book.
i am not finished it yet, have about 150 pages left but i highly recamend it. details the selection process, training and quite afew of the initial opperations including the desert one disaster in iran
overall an excellent read for those that like military novels that are more fact than fiction

Not sure a Sergeant would have been a "founder" of the operational detachment Delta, but I'll bet he gives himself plenty of credit.
Kinda like that Marcinko book about Seal Team Six.0 -
he wasm't the founder. the founding member col. charlie beckwith
he was a founding member, meaning he was one of the first classes to complete selection and give the new unit the numbers it needed to carry out it's opperations
he retired as a command sargeant major
had the seal team six book in my hand as well and went with delta, seeing as it is still not offiialy acknowledged by t he military0 -

that would make him a "plank owner" right?0 -
The Navy would refer to him as a plank owner, such as one of the members of the first crew of a new sailing ship in the old days. 0
