O BOY! they bought me a Deer Gun

For my birthday they all chipped in and bought me a deer gun. [8D]The trouble is that the gun has no sights [:0]and it's a single shot 9mm[:(!] But it is a DEER GUN[:p]
You can't hunt with this,[V] can you[?]

  9mm for deer? No. Underpowered and inadequate. Save your money and get a real deer rifle.

  "No sights"...is it already D & T'd for scope bases?
  
  If not and your grooved, might try a Weaver mount, or get it D & T'd. I'd think a fixed 4X should be adequate for the 9mm.
  
  9mm is way underpowered for deer...and check your State laws too...[;)]

  Using the higher powered 9mm ammo like Corbon, the 9mm is legal for deer here in Virginia, as the law requires 350 ft lbs of energy at the muzzle. I know a few older guys with bad shoulders, who can't take recoil at all, that use 9mm carbines such as the Marlin Camp for deer, it works fine at closer range such as thick woods hunting. Also, the .223 is not legal in Virginia, as the law also requires .23 or larger.
