Gingerbread pancakes.....

Anybody ever have them before? We just went out to eat at Perkins tonight and they have them as a special right now. Figured I would give them a try and boy, were they darn good.[:p]

    sounds good. never had that before.

    me and this dude made some pancakes and threw in whatever was laying around, mostly cinnamon, they were awesome but for the life of us we couldn't make them again! gingerbread pancakes sounds good.

    I am guessing you would like them then. I found some recipies on the internet and might try making my own sometime.[:p]

    BTW--Like bamma55 said, Perkins is a sitdown resturant chain. They have good breakfast and homestyle cooked meals. One of my favorite places to go eat.

    not as far as I remember. in omaha,

    westroads is on 102nd and dodge; crossroads is on 72nd and dodge; a few blocks away is a Perkins that's been there at least since the late 70's. (it's always been Perkins). in the high school years, we'd cruise up and down dodge street, sometimes we'd go there at 3am and pig out.

    Perkins didn't use to be Po' Folks. Bill Anderson (Whispering Bill), founded Po' Folks. Perkins has been around for quite a while. They are headquartered in Memphis. My aunt retired from the corporate offices early this year. She worked in product development, and always brought amazing baked goods from them to our family dinners. They have a great bakery in their restuarants!!

    Take some regular buttermilk pancake mix that has the milk and eggs init in the box. Add 1 egg per cup of mix, and use club soda, not water to mix the batter to the consistancy you like...add 1/2 tsp of cinnamon, and 1/2 tsp of nutmeg per coup of dry mix...enjoy.

    PS they are best with pure maple syrup, and/or maple butter like we have here in the Adirondacks of upstate NY.

    Damn....we sure eat well at camp!!!!

    Perkins has a few around the KC area but Po'Folks went out of business around here
