  I have a HP officejet 9130 which also has the chips in the ink cartridges. I buy ink from www.printerinkwarehouse.com and use it in all 4 carts with no problem at all. The company will tell you the chips wont allow other ink but it does work.

  I have heard for years the ink was about 5,000 a gallon so I guess it possibel. I also heard that's why printers are cheaper because they make it up on the INK[:(][xx(][V][:(!]
