So far, fairly pleased with just the dot scope and three high cap mags (1-dual drum 100rnd, 1-90rnd snail, 1-single drum 125rnd.). A sling and a light/laser may eventually follow, but no hurry.

When I had an AR, the only thing I did was add an accuwedge, put a scope on it (1.5-4.5x), and put ammo thru it.

Didn't you know that was the Marine Corps contribution to the DoD's search for a new USSOCOM weapon?

Sometimes it pays to go High speed, Low drag.......

Sometimes you can go a bit too far in the opposite direction.

I like a black thong and a matching push-up bra on mine, except when I am in the mood to dress it up as a cheerleader.

If you're talking about a rifle intended for defensive use the list is short.

    1. Sling of choice. (It's more than just a carrying strap.)

    2. Some sort of sight system for better low light use, either Trijicon style inserts or a lightweight 1X lighted dot/reticle optic. (If an optical sight is used it should be mounted so you retain the capability of using iron sights.)

    3. Depending upon what the rifle came equipped with, a high power extractor spring.

You're much better off keeping the rifle simple and putting your money into ammo for practice. A man with a minimalist rifle who shoots it regularly is much more dangerous than one with a portable accessory rack who shoots it infrequently.

Why do they need to be dressed up? I like to "build" my own, however they usually end up like one you would buy ... but not always [:D]

Top to bottom ... BOHICA, Armalite, PWA, Bushmaster, DPMS

Go for a gun thats more "practical" than "tactical".

If you have flat tops, get flip up iron sights, a co-witness optic, and a good 3 point sling. Thats. All. You. Need.

If you want, get a free float barrel with a quad rail, three flashlights, laser sight,etc...oh yeah, and a shirt that says "Moron".

    [8D]

Kind of joking about the moron thing, I do personally think all that add on junk is stupid and a waste of time and money but ya know, it takes all kinds.
