3 Gun Match with Laredo Lefty
I was introduced to the wonderfull wourld of 3 Gun by Laredo Lefty yesterday. I must tell you that 3 gun has to be the most fun I have ever had while shooting. I have always been a paper "score" shooter, manily doing Small bore, highpower, benchrest and the like. This was the firt timed event that I shot and it was truly a blast. Joe was graceious enough to allow me to use his Glock 17, Benelli Super 90 and AR-15 for the event. He even brought out a 1919 just to play with. Joe is not only a great man but also a great shot putting most of the other shooters to shame with his speed and accuracy (how is that for sucking up). Well I think I'm hooked, when is the next match?
BTW: this is also proof that you can have fun with guns in Southern California, all the other guys from SoCal should come out and join us next time.

3 gun IS fun, isn't it?
Of course you both probably would have done better if you had used a REAL handgun. [}:)][:o)][;)][:D]
Sorry, couldn't resist. ROFL
Yup, sounds like your hooked. How did YOU do?0 -
Sounds like a good time at the range[8D][^] 0 -
WOW Bryant... What a glowing review [:I] Thanks
It was good to have you out to shoot. 3-Gun is a fun competition and very practical for honing your defensive skills.
When I get the pics loaded into my photobucket... I'll post it.
For a guy who usually only shoots bullseye..... MK19 did a fine job. I think he actually outshot some of the regular 3-gunners.
Here we are.........Me on left... MK19 on right. Hey Bryant.... Looks like we could try-out for the Wild Bunch. [:D][:D]

I'd love to try it with my Heavy Iron - FAL, 1911, and a 12gauge.. but nothing I know of here in N Fl.

Woo Hoo, 3gun is fun. Heavy Metal is fun to. Nothing like out shooting some of the guys in Tactical with your pump, single stack and thumper. Thats more fun than winning. 0 -

You might check the USPSA website to see if they have any matches in your area with Heavy Metal class.
I shoot in the heavy metal catagory at the Superstition Mountain 3-Gun. I use an AR-10, Springfield 1911A1, and Benelli Super 90. A lot of fun and you can really ring those steel plates with a .30 cal.0 -

Being my first try I did find myself rushing too much and that hurt my accuracy. I think I need to slow down a little, after all:
Slow is smooth = Smooth is fast
I can't wait for next month's match, we are going to have a blast. Thanks again to Joe for introducing me to my next addiction.0
