Kids wish list....wow has it changed!
The past few years has been the types of Christmas mornings where there were piles and piles of junk. They just wanted "stuff" and it wasn't a specific big ticket item that really put us out. This year is SOOOOO diferent. The kids just "grew up" overnite....and now they have specific wants that are just throwing me for a loop.
The oldest wants a laptop and a small I-Pod. The other two want Zunes and cell phones. My son wants a four-wheeler (but I'm one of THOSE moms and we aren't getting that.) In adding up all of what they want it is a whoping $1,200.00 worth of gifts and only 6 small boxes. This isn't counting anyone else or even the small "trinkets" I usually try to gather up....like clothes and a few stocking stuffers.
This holiday just came out of nowhere.....I don't know where I've been, but it just doesn't seem like December already.

You could just get them a pair of work gloves so they could go earn what they want. [;)]
By the way, I'm just trying to be humorus, not a smart ass.0 -
LF,
I feel your pain!
I am haveing the same problem here![:(][:(][:(][:(]0 -
How much do 3 lumps of coal cost?
Work gloves are also a great suggestion.
How about you give them there own personal copy of the "help wanted" section of the paper?
Tell each one of them that you/your husband are only going to spend $100 on each of them, and suggest that they choose wisely as to what they realy want (with out going a penny over that limit, including S&H + sales tax).0 -
Yep, my daughter turned 9 in September and wants an MP3 player and cell phone. Last year it was Bratz crap and dolls. This year electronics. 0 -
It will only get worse. 0 -
If I got everything on my kids list,It would be almost $5000. WOW! times have changed. Even the letters to Santa are now E-mails and IM's[:D] 0 -
I guess I'm lucky with only having one child. She mainly wants clothes. Between Hollister, American Eagle, and Abercrombie, they took about $600 from me this weekend. I also bought her a digital photo album for about $200. Plus I am taking her to FL. for a week after christmas. Between Disney world, shopping, and a few trips to the beach, I'm figuring about another $1000. She wants a new 4-wheeler but I think I will pass on that one. We are in the process of building a new house now and we need to keep the costs of christmas down. The wife asked what I was getting her and I handed her the HVAC receipt for our home. It cost me $7850. She is happy with it and fully understands. When asked what I wanted, I simply asked for a new box of golf balls. I lose about 5 of them every time I go. Merry Christmas everyone. 0 -
I know if my mom owned and operated a gun shop, I'd ask for either a Walther P22 or a box of Federal Gold Metal Match .308. 0 -
So I guess this in not a good time to e-mail my wish list Locust Fork? 0 -
What is bad is I actually had a couple "prize" guns set aside to give to the kids for Christmas. I figured even if they aren't very interrested in the firearms it would be a good thing to give them some investments for later. I am gonna have to part with the guns just to get the actual crap they want. 0 -
I'm glad both my sons are grown up. Actually though they both want guns for Christmas and one wants a gun for his wife and another gun for his daughter (the one I gave the pink .22 to last year).
Wife says she doesn't want anything. But I know what she really wants. Grandaughter wants a puppy and stuffed animals and dolls.0 -
I am very glad that my kids are still young, they are not into the real expensive stuff yet. 0
