Good morning and T.G.I.F.!
This week has just crawled for me. We've had rain in Missoula for the past eight days and it's been really hard to get motivated. The one afternoon that the rains let up allowed me to get my lawns mowed. Fortunately, that's one less thing to worry about not being done over the holiday weekend. [:D]

I woke up this morning about 6:30 am, prayed a little bit, went outside to walk the dog out in the woods, there was a thick fog everywhere, definitly T.G.I.F.![:D][:D][:D][:D] 0 -
We've had so much rain this year here in East Texas my wife and I feel like when we retired last year and moved from Southern California that we made a wrong turn and went North to Seattle instead of East to Texas. Rain is good, but a little sunshine would be nice! It's too wet to get out in our woods and clear underbrush. 0 -

Boy He Dog, you nailed it on the head! I was complaining to my wife last night about not getting a line wet for almost two weeks. I guess I'm suffering from fly fishing withdrawal. [:D]
Today is sunny and just beautiful, but the local rivers are swollen and muddy. I sure hope you're right about tomorrow, as the waters should begin to clear soon! Thanks for the great perspective!! [^]0 -

Yep, we used to hear about rain in Southern California, but always thought it was an urban myth.[:D] I was actually born in Texas, but don't remember this much rain and we are seeing gulley's where there weren't any before. I now have a much bigger creek at the back of our property.0 -

That's terrific! Where will you be fishing in Missouri? Are you a "hatch matcher" like me? Do you tie your own flies too? My dad tought me the art of fly tying almost forty years ago when we had a 3000 acre cattle ranch in Wilson, Wyoming. I spent my summers fishing the Snake River and countless creeks and streams that crossed our property. There's nothing wrong with fishing in stocked waters and remember what they say: "Even the worst day fishing is better than the best day working." [^]

Of course there is! You're probably just overwhelmed with preparation for your big move. Hang in there, it will all be worth it when you get settled in. Sav99, yep, but it is the desert, we already want more. Maybe tonight. For perscective, my backyard averages 7" precip. annually. And, heck yes, I would be honored to try some of your creations!
Hobby Guy, I learned, "Forget the hatch, fish the Adams." So I do both, sometimes fishing a hatch, but often playing a hunch, when there does not seem to be a hatch. We will be fishing at Bennett Spring State Park, a spring run flowing into the Niangua River. The Spring run is stocked with rainbows, so you usually do better on powerbait or plastic worms than flies, but I mostly like wading, so I don't care, a fly rod makes me look like a serious angler instead of an overage kid wading. I tied flies as a kid, even did it commercially for a couple of years in my teens for a company called Doty, that was in my home town. They made spinning lures, but some of the versions had wooly worms or hackled trebble hooks, and I made pretty good money for a kid, for a lot of hours over a Herter's vice. I no longer tie, just no room to add yet another hobby and attendant gear. Maybe when I retire I will put together a traveling set-up for riverside improv. Best of Luck!!0 -

-My wife and I got back thursday from camping in the Sierra's (GOLD LAKE) 4wd area only and caught 1-31/2 lb and a 4 lb MACKINAW trouts, along with some very fiesty Rainbows--
--Good eating at 6000 ft, but thanks to the Dept of fish and game for the BEAR proof, storage bins at night--
--Course thats 3 hrs away from the CALIFORNIA Bay Area--Bummer--
