outsourceing the outsourceing...
The Tata Group, a Mumbai, India, company that handles customer-service calls for several U.S. firms, has outsourced some of its work to a firm in Ohio (according to an August Fortune magazine report), on behalf of a client that insists on operators knowledgeable about American geography. It's kind of funny, at some point, I think it was 2004-ish, India-based outsourcing firms started outsourcing outsourced labor to China 'because Indian "programmers'" hourly rates got so high they stopped being competitive.
I think another one was when unemployment administration of some state, I think Ohio, or maybe Indiana, outsources their call center. I laughed and I laughed and then I laughed some more.0
