Bush + comet = Bad Omen?
on monday, a comet appeared. when comets are in the neighborhood they circle the sun for years, sometimes centuries, it's when they come close to the sun and burn stuff off that they become visbile. but they "appear" nevertheless.
2 days later, El Presidente announced he will send 20,000 or so more troops to Iraq in a determined effort to clean the place up once and for all. it was a controversial decision.
historically, when comets appear they have been a bad omen. the death of an emperor or king, war, pestilence, famine, you get the picture. this comet that appeared is exceptionaly bright:
NASA astronomer Tony Phillips says Comet McNaught is the brightest comet visible from Earth in 30 years. It is six times brighter than Hale-Bopp in 1997, and 100 times brighter than Halley's Comet when it appeared in 1986, Phillips told The Associated Press on Thursday.
"It will remain a spectacular comet for weeks, perhaps months, in the Southern Hemisphere," Phillips said. "It could emerge as the brightest comet in recorded history."
it will be visbile to the nekkid eye through friday (tonight), in the southeast up to 1-1/2 hours after sunset.
well, whaddya think? BS or not? what could it mean?

The bad omen thing was made by a bunch of superstitious fools in ancient times. They didn't understand all the wonders in God's universe and tried to explain them as best they could. There is always something bad happening in the world and you could tie it in with almost any astronomical or meteorological event.
Or you could just say it is a bad omen for the terrorists.0 -
