    The VP70z is becoming a collectable on its own merit so i don't see any point in milling on a perfectly good collectable.

    Maybe I am just tired....maybe its the sunburn I have from watching my son's football game today (we won 32 to 6)....maybe its just that I NEVER deal with altered or "home made" guns....but isn't adding a stock to a handgun illegal. I can't figure out how this is OK to do. The addition of the stock makes it a short barreled rifle.....right? My brain may need a jumpstart on this one if I'm wrong.

    AZEX posts here (I've heard from him), he fits in with the GB gang just like a glove: Muslims, Mexicans, you name it, so clearly you have never heard the man's opinion of gays!

    By the way, I think it looks kind of neat and I'll bet that it took some pretty darned careful engineering to get the stock mounting correct without screwing up the pistol.

    Don't like it. Don't buy it.

    Before UHG (Taiwan) came out with an airsoft VP, there was only Tanio Koba brand (Japan), eponymously named after the designer, which was discontinued years ago. Very tough to find and very spendy when you could find them. Sure, you see them listed on websites all the time, but no one actually has them.

    VPs are not collectible. They barely command 500 bucks in good condition. The milling work is what costs money. As if you mess up, the thing is junk. Nothing you can do. Once the pistol is slotted, it's considered "readily convertible" to an SBR.

    It's a curiosity. There are nearly no transferables. Even pre-samples cost more than brand new M249s. 15-18K... Outrageous for what they are, and as much as a transferable MP5, but that's what the market will bear.

    So, how else to deliver to the HK faithful, the "gotta have this one thing to round out my HK collection" kinda gun that the VP is.

    If any of your armchair gun industry experts can enlighten me to another way to provide this particular item, I'm all ears.

    Unless you just wanted to b1tch about the price. In which case, please refer to the first sentence in this post.

    I've been a Class 2 (NFA weapon) manufacturer for 8 years.

    Trust me, it's legal, in most states, to transfer this gun to a qualified citizen on an approved Form 4 from myself if they are in AZ or from another NFA dealer if they are in another state where NFA weapons are legal....

    I would never put up an auction for something which was not legal for me to sell to the proper individuals.

    IF...that semi pistol had been slotted to fit the original HK stock with burst mechanism, then it would be "manufacturing" a post sample machine gun. The machine gun would not be tranfsferable to an individual, only to other Class 2s or Class 3s (with a PD demo letter) or to a police agency.

    Even though I'm from California and can't own an SBR (and you've already told me that the place is filled with illegals, commies, gays, liberals, ect. so spare me) I am curious if you can perform the same modifications to a customer supplied VP-70? I actually like it and if I lived in a "free state" I'd bid on that gun in a heart beat!

    The thing I think that is hanging me up is the Alabama laws. I don't think you can ship this to a buyer in Alabama....not even a class 3 person. Alabama has a short barrel rifle ban and you cannot bring another one into the state after the date that law passed.....sometime back in the 80's. I have had a long day. I try to stay "witty" and on top of things....but when I looked at that auction something about it made me think....NOOOOOOOO....but I just couldn't think of what it was.

    I am not one to jab at anyone's sales. I am not picking on you. One of my pet peaves is when some nim-rod walks into the store and points at the Barret and says...."is THAT legal!" You just want to throw whatever beverage at them when this happens. I just think there is something about that item.....something in Alabama's laws that makes it illegal for ME.

    And to answer kristov's question. No.

    And here's why. Before I can slot the pistol, you would've had to submit, and receive approved, a ATF Form 1 "Application to make and register an NFA firearm.". This form requires a payment of a 200 dollar tax.

    OK, all good so far. You send me the pistol, with your newly minted NFA paperwork. I mess it up milling it. Now, not only do I have to buy you another pistol, but you're out the 200 bucks too! The pistol cannot be properly "un milled" to ATFs satisfaction and removed from the NFRTR, the NFA registry, and even if it could, you don't get your 200 bucks back.

    So. I take all the risk. If I mess the thing up while slotting it, then I chop up the frame and sell off the parts. But that's on me.

    But here's the good news. Unlike Individual to Individual NFA transfers which require TWO-200 dollar taxes to facilitate...

    (Bob wishes to buy an M16, or SBR, or SBS, or AOW or whatever NFA thing. He finds one on a gunboard "on a Form 4" in another NFA friendly state...dang! Now Bob has to pay two taxes. One Form 4 transfer, Interstate, to a C2/3 in HIS state, and then one to him, both on a Form 4. Which is why some folks advertising NFA stuff say "buyer responsible for both taxes". )

    ...these require only a Form 4 from your in-state C2/3 to you. Since it's on a Form 2 (what manufacturing SOTs use to "make and register" since they don't have to pay "transfer/making taxes"...after all they're "manufacturers") the gun transfers on a tax free Form 3 (SOT to SOT transfer) to the NFA dealer in the same state as the final buyer. So no double taxation.
