I love flying if you haven't guessed. I prefer fixed wing as helo's and UFO's scare the hell out of me.

Contrary to popular belief, no one has ever been killed flying. It's the crashing that gets them.[8D]

I love flying. Crashing sucks. Don't sleep the night before and get some of the Bose noise cancelling headphones. Sleep through it.

Never had a fear of flying.

Had a fear of getting airsick a while ago. I was in my sophomore year of college and it was my first flight since like 4th grade, so I simply didn't know if I would get airsick. Got over that fear after a rather bumpy 737 ride which did not result in the slightest tinge of nausea.

Love to fly. Airplanes or helicopters.
    It's the airport, that I don't like.

I don't mind it, though I'd rather drive as I hate airports.

I've flown in everything from a 1928 New Standard to the 777.

if your plane is about to crash right before you hit the ground, just jump up!

    +1

especially with the new security flying is just too much trouble unless you have to get clear across country or across an ocean

+2 I love to fly. I have a license for Gliders & single engine, land.
I have also flown hang gliders & ultralights.
It's not the flying I hate, it's the airports, long delays on the ground & THE DAMN SMALL SEATS.

Driving a car is "unnatural" too, or a tractor for that matter.

They are just another machine designed and refined by humans, as long as it is treated/maintained/used with respect for the original design limits/specifications, its perfectly safe.
Of course... not being the pilot or having any knowledge of the maintenance on an airliner... I can understand a little unease trusting someone else (the pilot).

The last plane I was in was a bi plane. Before that it was a Ford Tri motor.I like the old planes and small planes like a Piper or Cessna. If it`s small enough that I can sit next to or near the pilot and grab the controls in the event he has a heart attack or something,I`m o.k.
I have never been in,nor do I ever plan to be in a passenger jet. The thought of being on a big jet loaded with other people with the pilot out of my sight scares the hell out of me. It has to do in part with not being in control and trusting someone else with my life.

Two blind pilots, one with a seeing-eye dog, the other using a cane, made their way onto an airliner.
While shuffling toward the cockpit, the pilots could hear nervous laughter filling the cabin.
As one of the pilots closed the cockpit door behind him, the laughter turned to silence. In complete disbelief, the passengers heard the engines started and the plane began to taxi. The airliner picked up speed and began heading for a lake at the end of the runway. Seeing the lake fast approaching, the passengers began screaming and the plane took off effortlessly just before hitting the end of the runway.
One pilot turned to the other and said, "You know, one of these days they're going to scream too late and we're all gonna die..."
