Nagant pistol?
Seems like they are available, as is ammo (for relatively cheap). Worth buying for range plinking, etc? Looks like I could get one for around $100, ammo for $15 per 40 rounds or so.

I think for a plinker, a .38 md 10, 7.62 *25 cz or a 9*18 MAK would be better, but It would be a neat collector and occassional shooter, and prices will probally go up 0 -
They work well.
As for cheap plinging ammo, you can buy the .32 ACP cylinder.
I plan on getting a couple for myself once my C&R gets approved.

Double action is a pain, about a 30 lb trigger pull. Single action isn't bad. Reasonably accurate, fun to shoot certainly. I handload for mine. You CAN shoot stock 32 Smith and Wesson long out of it safely but the case bulges a bit. For true ammo, surplus is available for about $15 per 40 which I find steep, or Fiocci for about $35/50. I hear tell Wolf is gonna make it soon but dunno the real dope on that.
If you handload, easy proposition. If not, good reason to start!0 -

You can also use .32 H&R Magnum or .32 S&W in the original cylinder.0 -
Just because a cartridge different than the maker intended will go into the chamber doesn't mean it is safe to fire. 0 -
The pressures of those cartridges fall below that of the original factory loads and the bullets are close enough in diameter to work. The pistol will function with those cartridges. Buy the extra cylinder if you want. But using those cartridges is really not much different than using .38 special in a .357 magnum. They did an article in Shot Gun News (last year sometime on the subject) and we've tried it in my friends Nagant pistol. It works just fine. I plan on buying one as soon as I'm done financing other projects. 0 -

Has anyone heard any info on prices yet? I assume it will be reasonable like their other ammo. However, I did have problems with .40 and 9 x 18 but the .30 carbine worked great.0 -

DO NOT shoot 32 through this pistol. I did and it was a major mistake! Sure the 32's will chamber and fire but by the 3rd round you aint hitting squat. The bullet diameter is too large and must squeeze down to fit. I spent over an hour using a dental pick to scrape out large chunks of lead from the barrel mouth. 0 -

That's strange the writers in Shot Gun News said nothing about this when they wrote their article and when we shot my friends several months ago we had no problems. I wonder if has to with when (what year)and where (which arsenal) the pistol was made.0
