    not sure but Iv got a old stevens 12ga that is in better shape then that but its missing its front stock so I would not put it up on auction hmmm maybe I should now [}:)][:D][:D]

    save them rascals, strip them and sell the parts ,then sell the gun at buy backs for 100.00[:D]

    My guess is also that they needed the parts and the gun was cheaper than the parts they needed.

    I'd bet it was for the decent looking condition forearm stock. Those seem to be a fequently lost item and can get pricey to replace. Probably not $78., but he got an original and possibly spar parts to boot.

    Parts my rear..That's exactly what I learned to hunt with..It works really well..It just loves killing squirrels, and it gave me one mighty fine childhood..It will kick ya butt off a stump just handily..

    We can only guess.
    He may have a sentimental shotgun with a bent barrel? The one in the auction has several good parts that would be hard to find original parts for.
