Eating out (Rant)

Came home late tonight and the wife said she didn't want to cook, let's go out. OK, to the Mexican joint that has the best Carnitas around, they weren't real busy, get seated, got the usual chips and drinks. Waiter never came around anymore, some Mexicans who came in after us ended up getting their food before they got around to taking out order. Rounded up the manager and told him, in English, why we were leaving. Next stop was the Sage Brush, greeter left us standing at the door for a while so she could finish the piece of cake she was stuffing in her face. Got seated and waitress brought out silverware nd took our orders. Unwrapped the silerware and looked up and saw the man pouring wrapped candy in the dish by the door. He dropped a few on the floor and promptly picked them up and put them right in with the ret of them, looked down at the silverware and it looked like it hadn't made it through the dishwasher. Got up told the manager why I was leaving and did so. Be afraid what the conditions would be like in the kitchen. Was going to go home and have a sandwich but ShowMars was open, a Gyro hit the spot.

Why is it so hard to find a clean place that has decent service anymore? I won't eat at a nasty place. Had to walk out of a Waffle House a couple of weeks ago, waitress was obviouly sick, coughing and hacking into her hands, then setting out silverware without washing her hands. Folks then wonder why they get sick.
