In general, are LEO's "pro or con" for CCW's?
I've often wondered if LEO's are "for or against" lawful/licensed individuals carrying a concealed handgun.

Pro CCW here, and in the Northern Virginia area also. PC800, I'm in Arlington now (not the FfxVa any more) where are you ?
Hi. I am in Western Loudoun County. I used to be a Maryland cop (years ago) and back then about 80% of the cops I knew were anti-gun and REALLY anti-CCW. Via my work, I also know quite a few VA and MPD cops, (and feds) and most of them are anti-CCW also. Check out the hoops that Fauquier County makes you go through to get a permit, and that is supported by the Sheriff down there.

They think only cops should be able to carry. I still maintain friendships with quite a few MD cops and they all still feel that way also. But, at the same time they all really pushed for LEOSA so that they can carry everywhere now and when they retire. Never understood that. But like I said, all the PA and AZ cops I have known are all very pro-gun and pro-ccw.0 -
when i was hanging out in philly a long time ago, some one once told me philly cops dont ticket doctors because they may one day save their life, dont know if its true or not, "just what i heard". 0 -

Around my neck of the woods I believe all are pro.
But when I lived in California I know most all would be against.
Heck in California I was even asked not to clean my guns infront of my plate glass window where people going by my house could see me!
When the police dept. asked this of me I told them I was not commiting any crime by doing so and that I would continue to do so as I was doing it for a reason. That neighborhood was not the best in the world and that I wanted people to know that there was guns in that house to make them think twice about ever comming there and messing around. And it must have worked as the shady people who lived around there would avoid my little section of that block.
LOL Art Bell, that's funny. I had a similar experience here in Colorado.
My neighbor across the way was a LEO (he and his girlfriend split -- she's a hottie BTW if someone is looking for a girlfriend -- he apparently lost the argument and moved out). He knew that I had guns because we talked about them all the time. I was cleaning my shotgun on my garage floor and he walked across and said that it was not a good idea to do that in front of everyone because it would make them nervous.
I said okay, and then went to my safe and proceeded to clean ALL of my guns on my garage floor. He chuckled.0 -

LOL I thought it was funny, too. Do you know how hard it is to clean a gun and laugh your ass off at the same time? You spill a lot of Hoppes #9.0
