ILLINOIS MAGAZINE BAN HEADS TO HOUSE . . . The Illinois Senate on Wednesday voted 31-26 in favor of a ban on gun magazines that hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition. The measure now heads to the House. Sen. Mike Jacobs (D-East Moline), whose area includes several gun manufacturers, warned that passage of the bill would be a serious blow to the state's economy as manufacturers have threatened to move out of state if the bill is passed.

Well I'm sure the state would not care if they moved. Even if they employed 1000 people- which I doubt they do. They can always just raise the taxes to make up for it. 0 -

This is terribly arbitrary.
I could pick up a copy of Guns and Ammo and probably hold 800 or more pieces of ammunition -- 22LR of course. But, that same copy of Guns and Ammo might only hold a few 50-BMG rounds.0 -
The really stupid thing is...After watching a dude changing mags faster than I can see at the range... The law is pointless... The dude can fire 40 using 4 ten'rders off as fast as I can using two of my bulky 30rders.... 0 -

This is the third time this has been posted.
No, the manufacturers would not be able to produce high cap mags anymore. It will be the last straw if it passes and they will all move. IL has many gun manufacturers and I wouldn't be surprised if we lose well over 1,000 jobs if they leave.
The state is so far in the red it's not even funny and all the Chicago a-holes have to worry about is driving businesses and jobs away as long as it fits their agendas. All Chicago guys.
There's just too many of them, representing too many people who don't give a damn about guns or our rights.0 -
A guy purchased the Springfield Armory name in 1974 and they are now manufactured in Geneseo, not far from Armalite's place.

Les Baer custom - 170 employees, has already held meetings with the city of LeClaire, IA. and they're waiting with open arms.
These 4 will leave if the ban passes.
We also have Rock Island and DPMS which I'd imagine will also follow suit.
I believe I heard on the radio a while back that they combine for roughly 80 million in tax revenue, annually.
Maybe they can come up with a new lottery game or build some more casinos to make up for it. [V]0 -
If I were an Illinois gun company I would prepare to move, layoff the workforce but pay them a lump sum severance equal to the duration of the move, stick IL with the unemployment during the time the employees are on unemployment, then relocate and rehire all the tax paying employees.
That way you can stick IL with the unemployment bill and take all the income tax from paid by your workforce.0 -

and as a side note , finally talked my long-time best friend to move out of Ill. , now resides here with me (temporary situation) , pulled a few strings , got him a LEO job with me (Tn) ...He has already done the CCW thing and loves Tn as a 'gun friendly' state ...
