san francisco bay area. ugh.
been only just over two months since i left and being here only a couple of days i can definitely see why i left and that i am never coming back - the traffic, idiot drivers, the people, the liberals, the diversity, political correctness, the weather, the crackhead news casters, the pothead local politicians, not having a gun, parking rip-off, dirt everywhere... the whole visit feels like coming to a third world country.
i am neither complaining, nor whining, just observing, it's quite interesting.

Just think, you can be a firefighter there and be forced to march in the Gay Pride Parade.
You could also be a millionaire.
Don't you feel silly now?0 -

my cow-orkers are saying the RE market here is at rapid decline but the median price is still at something like 630k. i wonder how many people south of the border at $10 an hour does it take to pay a mortgage on 630k?0 -
San Diego is the CORRECT answer!
... talk about a media-created firestorm! It's certainly been
the biggest thing to happen here since the Zombie March a
couple of weeks ago!

As long as accent is on "American", I don't care what else they are, and that's what they should be. Is that wrong?

Woodland Park has a unique problem which is driving up the price of homes, which is that it is a planned community with no further additional building allowed. It is merely a supply/demand thing. You can tear down an existing building, but the city limits will not be expanded and it is surrounded by national forest.0 -

Don't know. I just saw a brand new development in city limits there that's coming up, the builder didn't demolish anything but they are selling 1/2 acre lots at 120-180k empty or they'd build you a house on it for about 600k or so. That's just one, I've heard of other new developments over there in the area.0 -

I know which development you're talking about. That used to be someone's ranch and they sold it to a developer. Again, it is a supply/demand thing. The ranchers up there can sell to developers, the developers can split the land and make new developments, but the town will not/cannot expand further. Thus, prices are being driven up.0
