    Olay!!!!!!!!

Feel sorry for the people stuck in traffic though. On the news, they showed traffic backed up for miles. [:0]

"at least we have the equipment and training" seems like he had the equipment and the training. [:D]

I believe he did call officers. DUH.

Now, here's a brilliant question for the "authorities" -- while the old man is dialing 9-1-1, what incentive does the crook have to stick around? What's preventing the crook from attacking and probably killing the old man? What's helped the "authorities" capture the old man?

Oh yeah, that's right, it is the gun.

    Morons.

Sort of unrelated, but Dallas PD officers WILL NOT respond to a burglar alarm until the owner or other responsible party has gone to the location and determined that there is an actual burglary and not a false alarm.

If you have a burglar alarm on a home or business in Dallas, you had better be "trained and equipped" to deal with a burglary-in-progress, because the cops ain't coming in time to be of any use.

    Sure, call 911 (dial-a-prayer)
Like they will do anything, except fill out paperwork (after the fact) if that.

This brainwashing isn't working for ALL any more.
Want to protect yourself or your property?
Accept the responsibility, do it yourself.

WTG Alton, at 85 your doing better than MANY.

Has anyone noticed that our elderly have been getting tougher of late?

I wonder if it has something to do with the pet food?

No, Zip it is that we are now the elderly and we are tough![^][:0]

The cops had the equipment all right. A jail, that is all the old guy needed from them.

I don't know about the tougher part but, an 86 year old guy at the Boise Gun Club won the ATA Handicap last weekend with a 97.

I doubt if I will be able to even go to the club when I'm that old!

Noooo, not me. I can REMEMBER puffing my chest out and tensing for combat
when walking past a gang of young toughs ... not anymore ... now when I see
a gang dude (with tats on his neck and forehead) or even a rough looking old
granny, with her colors hanging from the handles of her walker ... I just bend
at the waist, place my right hand over my right kidney and hobble on by
    mumbling at the ground!

... THAT'S how guys in MY neighborhood GET to BE, 62!

Urinating in your pants probably helps, too.
