One of the reasons why milk is so high is BECAUSE gas is so high. Ever think of how much it costs to fill up the fuel tanks on a milk truck? Someone has to pay that, and it's usually not the driver. The trucks belong to the creamery, and the creamery gives a federally regulated amount of money to each farmer for the milk. But if it costs twice as much as it used to a couple of years ago to fill the fuel tanks on the milk truck, then it wouldn't be too long before the creamery goes out of buisness. They have to make up for the money going into the fuel tanks by raising the prices on the milk that goes out to the general public. 0 -

its also more expensive to feed livestock, demand for feedstuffs has gone up due to more going to ethanol and biodiesel production (due to high fuel prices making people think about alternatives to diesel/gas) so prices on feedstuffs go up too.0 -

yeah, during the semester I use roughly 40-50 gallons/month just for normal everyday driving, not counting trips (and I don't drive a gas hog SUV either).
Not even Mr. T can drink that much milk in a month [:D]0
