missing 60 Pounds of Pot?

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - The Florida Highway Patrol says anyone missing two big bags of pot can call their Tampa area office.

A crew picking up litter from along Interstate 4 near Tuesday morning made an unusual find: two big plastic garbage bags stuffed with freshly harvested marijuana.

FHP Trooper Larry Coggins says the 60 pounds of pot might be worth around $54,000 on the street. It probably fell off or was thrown from a car on the interstate.

The plants appeared freshly picked and some had intact roots.

Coggins says it's not the largest amount of pot ever dumped along a roadside, but it's certainly not a common find.

    If you lived in a semi suburban area with some timber on the backside and you had a ditch-weed epidemic and are in the habit of putting your leaves out on the corner with the garbage, would you deposit a bunch of ditch weed there as well only to raise suspicions and go through a bunch of hassle over it? Probably not--especially if you are ignorant on the subject.

    Yep. The best place to hunt doves is to set out on a lawn chair in the shade near a patch of ditch weed. They'll hit that before they hit the cornfields.

    LOL, Thats no joke man, Those doves seriously wobble alot after eating that weed. Thats why you have to shoot them when they are coming into the feilds and not when they are leaving[;)][:D]

    whoever mentioned ditchweed is probably on the money:
    somebody found it growing in their yard, got paranoid about the cops busting them for "pot" (rightfully so, since an overzealous idiot DA would probably claim it was the finest "maui wowie" and not ditchweed)
    and dumped the plants after erradicating them.
