Ed Brown Mini-Comp
I've been away for a while (damn filters at work[:D]) and I gots me a new girl for Christmas (since, no one loves me like me[:D]). I was at my local Gunshop where I spied me a black beauty with wooden grips in a shelf of plastic. So, I'm reading the tag $1,400 (got to crunch the numbers first) just happened to be real close to my christmas bonus (and after the state and tax it was little over[:D]). Stood there and left me some nose prints on the glass. Then the evil man pulls her out and lets me hold her (that's just mean[}:)]).
I said I'll pass and gave her back (didn't want to) but I did swear when California stopped honoring the BFAC I would never buy another hand gun. On the way home I thunk and the inner daemons started to work on me. I told myself I'd get her if she was still there on Monday (this was a Thursday) and if she was there then it was fate. Needless to say I didn't make it to Monday[:D]. Yup I'm weak. I dropped a grand for a down payment and went and took the "New" and "Improved" fire arms test.
So, she's a Ed Brown on a Colt Combat Commander on Mark IV Series 80 in black with a Mini-Comp with a Bar-Sto barrel (as soon as I can take some decent pic I'll show her). The dealer told me she was a "Safe Queen" and for most parts this seemed true since the outside is a 95%[;)]. After spending the good part of a day Detailing her and saw some white areas where old powder hid them (I'll also, need to polish a spot or two). No biggie since I know I would've gotten around to putting some wear.
I tried to contact Ed Brown (via e-mail) but I have yet to hear anything so I came to a place where people love to give me some free answers. So anyone knows when these were made? I know Colt could tell me a date of manufacture. How much they cost new (not that this really matters) since I recon this was more than $1400 (back when a dollar could buy you a pack of smokes). Basically any information since Ed Brown's site has nothing other than their current gear.
