Flight 93 and Shanksville, PA - The 9/11 Attacks
Most of the time, whenever 9/11 is mentioned, most folks immediately think of the World Trade Center and perhaps don't reflect upon Flight 93, the heroes on board it that morning and the crash site in Shanksville, PA. I suspect the same could be said about the attack on the Pentagon as well.
Is anyone here on GB closely linked or tied to the Flight 93 tragedy because of a family member, relative, friend, co-worker, etc.? Not prying and not trying to stir up anything, just curious.
In today's mail I received a beautiful, detailed and very poignant iron-on color fabric "military" patch that commemorates "The Spirit of 9/11" with an eagle superimposed over a portion of the Stars 'n' Stripes of the American flag with the words "Let's roll!" The inscription is at the top and rests upon a golden sword that traverses the width of the patch. It's truly beautiful. Here's a link to one company that's selling it:

Not with flight 93, other than to hear everyone on the radios when it was headed back towards DC.
I was one of the hundreds, if not thousands that responded to the Pentagon though.
When you talk about reflecting back, more people died in the Pentagon than in the Oklahoma City bombing, but the WTC attack made the Pentagon and Shanksville pale by comparison.0 -
