I've heard that rumor also, Walmart should be open within sixty days if NORAD can get all their crap out of there.

It's a rumor to some - and not to others!

Home of NORAD - the Gov't is going to kick NORAD out
    of the complex.

I can't tell you why - but it will be made public soon.
    Rumor?
Been on the news here, since July 06.

Old news - they said the reasons are economic and claim the current political climate also makes it obsolete.

So, due to the current political climate, nukes have dropped off the face of the earth?

    Wow, that's awesome!

I would like to get my hands on that facility. It would make a great wine cellar.

I'll have to check the auctions, I could use a stargate.

It is pretty useless without the code book, which is on a separate auction.

I got a tour of the place back in 1979. My Uncle was a AF Col living in Colorado Springs and got me on the tour.

The LT Col that did the briefing was a pilot in the 438th fighter sq, F-106's in Upper Michigan when I was in the same unit in 1960-64! Quite a shock.

The place was very impressive and I am surprised that they are going to scrap it. I hope they just plug up the entrances and keep it on inactive statue for future needs when the Muslim come to visit!

From what i was told the place [NORAD] was not nearly a fracton of how deep it should have been buried. The soviets had not one; but a whole regiment of missiles targeted on the site. They would have made the whole mountain disappear. [V]

Cheyenne Mountain is made of granite. It would probably take a whole regiment of missiles to poke a hole in it.
