Alcohol curfew
Is it a good or a bad thing? I just learned that in state of CO you can't purchase alcohol after midnight at a retail store, it's an annoyance, not that big of a deal, but still an annoyance. On a different level, level where someone's imposing their life style onto me it's about as bad as mandatory "gay education" in california. Anyone else see it the same way?

I don't think they are doing it to "impose a lifestyle", they're doing it to prevent crime from getting out of hand. not you, specifically, not most people that drink; but there are dudes that stay up and party all night, and that's when the bad stuff happens. if they have access to alcohol all night, that's like adding fuel to the fire. I've been there, believe me! I think cutting off the booze supply in the dead of night keeps a lot of bad things from happening. 0 -
I hate that the don't sell booze on Sundays in Colorado, except for in 3.2 beer in the stores but none of the good stuff 0 -
its 2330 in my towm for retail locations and 0130 is last call. 0 -

The place that surprised me is Arizona. You can't buy alcohol on Sundays before Noon. 0 -

Believe it or not, some people don't plan ahead, even if they live right around the corner from the liquor or beer store. I used to load trucks with a man who made a tidy part-time income on weekends as a bootlegger. He would stock up while the stores were open, and then resell the hooch for double to those people who didn't plan ahead, but had to have it. It is usually thought that bootleggers flourish in dry areas, but old Adolphus proved that a bootlegger can do just fine in a wet area.0 -

Just plan accordingly and buy extra so you do not run out at an odd hour of the morning. I live in Indiana so you cannot buy alcohol on Sundays. Fortunately I live close enought to Illinois to make a run to get more. Just a little out of the way but sometimes worth it. And alcohol is cheaper in Illinois for some reason. 0 -
In my town, no alcohol sales between midnight and 8:00 am. No sales on election day til after 6 pm. No sales on Sundays either. If you're going to the lake on sat. morning earily, you better stock up on fri. evening. I dont mind the midnight cutoff but for cripes sake start selling again at 6 am. Us drunk boaters need our beer. LOL. 0 -
dude, I've seen guys that will drink a 12 pack in 3 hours and laugh at you. or 1/2 of a 750. gone in a few hours. now put 15 of them together and what do you get. and the party definitely ain't over just because the booze is gone. 0 -

Last time I was in the New Orleans area, you could drive up to a window and buy a frozen daquiri or margarita. They put a sticky dot over the straw hole in the lid of the styrofoam cup so they could claim it was a "sealed" container.
I believe the New Orleans police are still limited to two beers or two drinks on their lunch break, too.0 -
WOW...thanks for bringing this up Rock. Just took a stroll down memory lane. I forgot about CO and the 3.2% and the midnight sales. I was there 18 years ago for tech school, figured they would have done away with those laws by now. 0 -
I find that it is pretty stupid.
Most people who want to drink on Sunday and/or after midnight (depending on state) will simply buy their alcoholic beverages the day before.0
