From what I hear, there's no such thing as an ex-Marine.

But from the story, it's abundantly clear there are such things as "ex-bears."[;)][:D]

What this story didn't mention is that the marine got a ticket for failure to secure his campsite.

Talk about a perfect shot. That log had to hit in the right spot to kill a bear, skulls are pretty thick![:0][:0] Kinda like my ex-wife![:D]

quote:This one got a little too aggressive for me," he said. "If the bear had gotten near my kids, I would have just jumped on it. Knowing me, that's what I would have done, anything to make sure my kids were safe.he could have done the same thing with a knife, or, like he said, jumped on it and take his chances. 300 lbs is enough bear but that aint quite full grown. now if it was a full grown bear weighing twice as much or more, they would have been in some deep poo poo...

First off, apologies for using the phrase "ex-Marine."

It looks like this guy taught his kids right - they didn't run, which would have landed them in a whole lot of trouble.

And how do you secure a campsite from a 300 pound bear? I don't know of anyone who brings enough cinderblock to make an effective wall against that kind of critter. [;)]
