new gun for the wife?
Wife and I finally got to to to the range together... first time in 11 or so years we've both had the time and a baby sitter, etc. to do it all.
Anyway, due to her carpal tunnel, she didn't like my AK, and the FAL slapped her face fairly hard. She still loves shooting what she thinks is "her" Ruger 44 carbine tho, and she liked shooting the 1911.
I'm thinking a S&W model 10 may be in her futuer - nice, cheap, light, not as much recoil as the 45. I may also start looking for another pistol caliber carbine for her - maybe a Marlin camp carbine in 45...
Any other suggestions?

Or even a Marlin in 357 mag! Not much kick and fun to shoot.
A "K" model sized 38/357 revolver would be easier on her wrist, shooting lightweight 38 wadcutters with a target load.0 -
What size is a K frame compared to a 686 (only 38/357 I've shot)?
I really like the 686, but I think that it would be too much weight for her with her carpal tunnel syndrome. Sorta why I like the mdl 10 - thin barrel would reduce most the weight out front, which would decrease torque on her wrists, and she'd be shooting 38s 99.999% of the time - when she wants somethign bigger, I always have the 1911 and the 44 carbine.
But then, she *really* likes that Ruger carbine... maybe I should just start reloading for it...0 -

Old-Colts - yup, since she first shot it when I got it.
I've lusted after one since about the day they stopped making them, and about 15 years ago a co-worker offered me one for $150. Near new in box, no warning, ivory bead front and williams peep rear, I snapped it up quick. My only regret is letting the wife shoot it... she's a puerto rican and a natural redhead (he mom was french canadian), so I let her think it is hers and shoot it occasionally - I figure it is in my best interest, unless I want her to use it on me

K frame and L frame S&W are the same size grip frame but the grips are not necessarily all interchangeable.0 -

I have a model 65 satin stainless lady smith with four inch barrel. Its perfect weight for the gals or the guys and a sweet shooter. It will fire both 357/38 special.0
