The Church Gossip
Sarah was the church gossip and self-appointed supervisor of
the church's morals. She kept sticking her nose into other people's
business.
Several residents were unappreciative of her activities, but feared her
enough to maintain their silence.
She made a mistake, however, when she accused George, a new
member, of being an alcoholic after she saw his pickup truck parked in
front of the town's only bar one afternoon. She commented to George and
others that everyone seeing it there would know that he was an alcoholic.
George, was a man of few words, stared at her for a moment and
just walked away. He said nothing.
Later that evening, George, quietly parked his pickup in front
of Sarah's house...............
AND he left it there all night.

The church gossip and self-appointed arbiter of the church's morals kept sticking her nose into other people's business. Several church members were unappreciative of her activities, but feared her enough to maintain their silence.
She made a mistake, however, when she accused George, a new member, of being drunk after she saw his pickup truck parked in front of the town's only bar one afternoon. She commented to George and others that everyone seeing it there would know what he was doing.
George, a man of few words, stared at her for a moment and just walked away. He didn't explain, defend, or deny; he said nothing.

The Church Gossip.....
Mildred, the church gossip, and self-appointed monitor of the church's morals, kept sticking her nose into other people's business. Several members did not approve of her extra curricular activities, but they feared her enough to maintain their silence. She made a mistake, however, when she accused George, a new member, of being an alcoholic after seeing his old pickup parked one afternoon in front of the town's only bar. She emphatically told George and several others that everyone seeing it there would know what he was doing. George, a man of few words, stared at her for a moment, turned, and walked away. He didn't explain, defend, or deny. He said nothing. Later that evening, George quietly parked his pickup in front of Mildred's house.... walked home... and left it there all night. You gotta love ol' George.....0 -
Maude, the church gossip and self-appointed supervisor of everyones' morals, always stuck her nose into other peoples business. Several members of the congregation were unappreciative of her activities, but feared her enough to maintain their silence.
She made a mistake, however, when she accused a new member, George, of being an alcoholic after seeing his truck parked in front of the town bar for several hours one afternoon. She commented to George, and others, that everyone in town seeing it there would know he was an alcoholic. George, being a man of few words, stared at her for a few moments and walked away without saying anything.
Later that evening, George quietly parked his truck in front of Maudes' house....and left it there all night.

An elderly couple wanted to do something special to celebrate their 60th anniversary. They looked through several newspapers and magazines advertising various activities, but on their limited retirement income, most were beyond their means. Then they saw an ad for a barnstormer type airplane ride for $10., an amount that they could afford.
They went out to the airfield and met with the pilot, but were disappointed when the pilot said it was $10 per person, and since they both wanted to go, the cost would be $20.
They were turning to leave when the pilot said that he didn't mind having a stowaway, but the radio would be transmitting during the flight and if the owner heard them over the radio, they;d be stuck paying two fares.
So the husband got in and sat so that he was out of sight from the tower, and then the wife got in. the pilot got in the front seat of the biplane and took off. The pilot put the plane through several maneuvers and heard the delighted wife's squeals of excitement. As he continued he noticed things got very quiet in the back seat. He completed the sequence of turns and stalls, then went to the airfield and was landing. When the plane stopped he got out and went to help the couple out, but only the man got out.
The pilot was very confused about the location of the woman. The husband told the pilot that his wife's seat belt had come loose and she lost her grip during one of the turns and had fallen out of the airplane. The pilot, even more confused asked why the man hadn't gotten the pilot's attention so to prevent the wife from falling. The husband said to speak one word would have cost him a full fare, and 10 bucks is 10 bucks!!!0 -
